SIGNAL Roderic Sports Intelligence

About

One builder, a family of instruments

Roderic Sports Intelligence is one person's family of independent sports analytics products, built in public where the sport allows it, with the working principle that authority is earned by showing the work.

What SIGNAL is

SIGNAL — this site — is the front door: a map of which product owns which kind of truth, a status surface fed by the products' own published artifacts, a methodology index, and a public research ledger. It is a publisher, not a calculator: no rating, probability, or ranking is computed here, and none ever will be. One repository owns one truth, and this repository owns the map.

The family

  1. Producers — each owns one kind of truth

  2. Versioned read-only artifacts

Hashed, timestamped, release-stamped files and endpoints. The only lane truth may travel — downward, never back up.

A governed hybrid may pair producer bytes with a separately hashed manual supplement for a named missing public field. That is not merged authority: producer fields remain producer truth, while the supplement keeps its own reason, timestamp, source reference, and hash.

  3. Consumers — read the artifacts, write nothing back

    • SIGNAL reads all four producers' artifacts at build, records any manual supplement separately — publishes this site's map, status, methods, and research ledger
    • Roster Command private — reads approved real-football evidence for fantasy decisions
    • Hedgebook private — reads producer artifacts beside market prices; prices never flow back into any sports model

Consumers never write back — one repository owns one truth.

Who makes this

Roderic Rinehart — a teacher who builds analytics systems. The products are independent work: no league affiliations, no sportsbook partnerships, no advertising. Where a sport's data cannot be used lawfully, the product says blocked and waits; several pages in Signal Lab exist precisely because the honest answer was no.

SIGNAL and the family products are not affiliated with or endorsed by the NBA, NFL, or MLB. Team and league names appear only as factual references.
